MedStar Health, Novant and Sentara create purchasing giant
MedStar Health is joining forces with two other major health care systems to create a purchasing giant, continuing its efforts to consolidate expenses by reaching outside of its corporate walls for more buying clout.
Columbia, Md.-based MedStar, which owns the District’s two largest hospitals, has agreed with Novant Health of Winson-Salem, N.C., and Sentara Healthcare of Norfolk, Va., to create a new jointly held entity — MNS Supply Chain Network LLC.
